The zebra plant (Aphelandra squarrosa) is a tropical houseplant known for its striking, dark green leaves adorned with white or yellow stripes, resembling a zebra's stripes. To care for it, place the plant in bright, indirect light, avoid direct sunlight. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged, and use a well-draining potting mix. Maintain a humidity level of around 50% or higher, either by misting the plant or using a humidifier. Maintain a temperature between 65-75°F (18-24°C) and fertilize every 4-6 weeks during the growing season. Prune to encourage bushiness and repot if it outgrows its container.
