The spider plant (Chlorophytum comosum) is a popular indoor plant with arching, variegated leaves. It's low-maintenance and adaptable to different light conditions. To care for it, keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy, and water when the top inch of soil is dry. Spider plants thrive in indirect sunlight but can tolerate low light. They are excellent air purifiers. Prune brown tips and remove spiderettes to propagate. Fertilize sparingly, and avoid extreme temperature fluctuations.
